Hi Elana,

If I recall correctly, the head is formed along with the body. It just doesn’t look like a head until you gather the neck in and embroider on the ears and face. I actually gathered the wrong end of my cat the first time around! So, look carefully – one end is squarer than the others. The square bits will become the ears. I hope this makes sense and helps you out.

I have all the parts but the head completed. I have the book, Natural Knits for babies and Moms. I have yet to figure out the pattern specific for the head portion of the pattern. Do you know where I can find it?

Hi Sharon,

Thanks for stopping by! My machine is an old Necchi from the 50′s that I bought second hand after it had been converted to a treadle. I have a few feet for it, but the zipper foot just isn’t one of them. One of these days I’ll treat myself, though.

Enjoying reading about the quilts for soldier’s. Thought I would put in my 2 cents worth on the zipper foot. The zipper foot is usually one of the feet that is always included with any sewing machine. Check your accessories and sew if it isn’t there.
